Work with me

Some losses change everything that comes after.

Sometimes it’s the death of someone you love. Sometimes it’s a traumatic event, an illness, a divorce, a betrayal, or a future that quietly slips away. Sometimes no one dies, yet something inside you does.

This is grief.

Not simply the grief of losing someone, but the grief of losing certainty, identity, safety, trust, or the life you imagined for yourself. These are the losses that often go unseen by others, yet they quietly shape the way you think, relate, love, and move through the world.

We’ve been taught to think of grief as something we move through, get over, or leave behind. I don’t believe that’s how it works. Grief becomes part of our story. The question is not whether grief will change us. The question is how we learn to live in relationship with it.

I know that journey — not only as a therapist, but as someone who has lived it myself.

Early in adulthood, severe anxiety completely altered the course of my life. The career I had imagined as an actress suddenly felt out of reach. Then the death of my partner brought another profound loss — one that left me searching for support that never reached the deepest parts of what I was experiencing. I met compassionate people, but I couldn’t find anyone who truly understood what it meant to lose not only someone I loved, but also parts of myself.

That search changed the direction of my life. It became the foundation of my work. Today, I help others discover that healing isn’t about forgetting what happened or leaving grief behind. It’s about developing a different relationship with it — and in doing so, rediscovering the relationship you have with yourself.

“Grief becomes part of our story. The question is not whether grief will change us — the question is how we learn to live in relationship with it.”

Meet Edy

Healing begins when you feel seen, understood, and safe enough to become curious.

For more than thirty years, I’ve helped people navigate grief, trauma, anxiety, identity loss, and the invisible wounds that can continue to shape our lives long after the original event has passed.

Over the years, my understanding of grief has expanded beyond traditional models. I developed the 11 Phases of Grief® because grief isn’t something we simply move through. It becomes part of our lives, changing shape over time and asking us to develop a different relationship with it.

Healing. What does that word mean to you? For some people, it means relief. For others, it sounds like forgetting, moving on, or leaving the past behind. I don’t believe that’s the goal. I believe healing is about learning to live with those experiences in a way that allows you to reconnect with yourself.

Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and deeply curious. Together, we’ll explore not only what happened, but how your mind, body, and nervous system adapted in order to survive. What once felt confusing often begins to make sense. What may have felt like a flaw is often revealed as a strategy that helped you through the unimaginable.

Individual Work

Finding the right therapist is a deeply personal experience.

Before we schedule our first session, I’d like us to have a brief phone conversation. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know one another, talk about what brings you here, and decide whether we’re the right fit before we begin our work together.

I believe therapy is a collaboration. My role isn’t to tell you who you are or who you should become. Together, we’ll explore the experiences that have shaped your life, identify the emotional roadblocks that keep you feeling stuck, and begin to understand how they came to be.

Your mind and body have worked very hard to protect you.

Perhaps you’ve tried therapy before and still feel like something is missing. You’re exhausted. You feel invisible. You know something changed you, and yet you can’t quite find the words for what you’re carrying.

I believe there is liberation from the imprisonment of emotional and physical violations. Healing begins with curiosity.

Psychotherapy

Exploring the patterns, stories, and adaptations that have shaped your inner world.

EMDR

Processing trauma at the level of the nervous system, not just the mind.

Hypnotherapy

Accessing deeper layers of experience to support lasting change.

Certified Sex Therapy

Compassionate, affirming care for sexual concerns, identity, and intimacy.

My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and works with individuals, couples, and people of all genders experiencing grief, trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, sexual concerns, identity questions, and life transitions.

Courses & Group Programs

Sometimes healing begins with being understood.

Alongside my individual therapy practice, I am developing a series of psychoeducational courses and guided group experiences that invite you to explore grief, trauma, anxiety, relationships, sexuality, and the remarkable ways our minds and bodies adapt to life’s most difficult experiences.

These programs combine education, self-reflection, practical tools, guided exercises, and meaningful conversation. They aren’t about fixing you — because I don’t believe you’re broken. They’re about helping you better understand yourself, your experiences, and the protective patterns that may still be shaping your life today.

Knowledge can be profoundly healing. When we begin to understand why we respond the way we do, shame often gives way to compassion.

When we learn alongside others, we’re reminded that healing is rarely a straight line — and that we were never meant to walk it alone.

Insurance Information

Navigating coverage, made as simple as possible.

I am currently an out-of-network provider and do not participate in insurance panels. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits for mental health services, which means you may be eligible for partial reimbursement for our sessions.

Before beginning therapy, I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to learn more about your out-of-network mental health coverage, reimbursement rates, and any requirements your plan may have.

To make the process as straightforward as possible, I work with a professional billing service that will submit claims on your behalf whenever out-of-network benefits are available. Your insurance company will reimburse you according to the terms of your individual plan.

If your insurance plan does not include out-of-network benefits, therapy will be a self-pay expense. If you have questions about fees, billing, or how the reimbursement process works, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Start with one conversation.

Whether your loss has a name or is simply a feeling you can’t quite explain, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
