Individual Therapy
A private space to explore your story, understand your grief, and discover new ways of relating to yourself.
Edy Nathan
For more than thirty years, I've helped individuals, professionals, and organizations understand grief beyond bereavement — with compassion, resilience, and hope.
Who is Edy?
We've been taught to think of grief as something that follows the death of someone we love. You and I know it's much bigger than that. Grief arrives through divorce, illness, trauma, betrayal, infertility, the loss of a career, the future we imagined, or the person we once believed ourselves to be. Sometimes the greatest losses are the ones no one else can see.
My own experiences with anxiety and profound personal loss changed the direction of my life. They also became the foundation of my work. My grief led me to understand how pervasive grief is, and how much of a teacher it can be — if you let it in.
Today, as a licensed psychotherapist, AASECT-certified sex therapist and sex educator, EMDR clinician, speaker, and author, I help people understand not only what happened to them, but how grief and trauma continue to shape their relationship with themselves.
Healing doesn't mean forgetting. It doesn't mean getting over what happened or leaving it behind. I believe healing begins when you feel seen, understood, and curious enough to explore your own story.
Wherever you are in your journey, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Grief is not just an emotion—it weaves itself into your body, thoughts, and relationships. It can shape how you see yourself, how you connect with others, and how you move through the world.
Whether your grief is fresh or something you've carried for years, understanding its presence is the first step toward integrating it into your life. There is no right way to grieve, but there are ways to carry it differently.
Work with me
Whether you're seeking individual therapy, couples therapy, or educational experiences, my work is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and compassion. Together, we'll explore the patterns that once helped you survive, understand how they continue to shape your life today, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you.
Healing isn't about becoming someone new or leaving your past behind. It's about developing a different relationship with yourself, your grief, and the life you're living now.
